Discoverying My Brand

Typically creating your personal brand is a very hard thing to do but for me in particular it was even harder. I could not think of anything that would really resemble me. There were no little graphics that I could use that would give a good background to who I am as a person. My hobbies and interests wouldn't be able to be put into a graphic that wasn't mediorce or that would be taken seriously. I drew around 150 different logos and sketches which all ended up being just a drawing on a paper. None of them made it out of my sketch books. I wanted to do something with just my name originally or my initials. It was hard for me to use something with my initials in a graphic of some sort due to my initials being MK which is usually seen as Michael Kors. After thinking of ideas for couple weeks, it was best to just use my name in a nice font. I didn’t want my logo and personal brand to simply be my name in a nice font. I played around with several different fonts until I decided on Gotham. I use Gotham often so I figured it was only right to have it as my brand’s font. I also thought overlaying my first name on top of my last name in a smaller size would make it look different. I used colors of the beach and the sunsets that I love being around. It turned out to be the same color palette of my bed room as well without me even realizing. Coral, teal, and blue are my favorite colors. I decided to use the coral and dark blue colors for my main logo because they looked the best. The dark blue on the coral really popped more than my other variations of my logo. I’m happy with how my brand turned out. It’s more original than I anticipated it being considering I don’t have a graphic in my brand at all. I think my brand symbolizes me and my simplicity while adding some fun to it at the same time with the colors and position of the type.
